Alex and Hannah on the blocks, practicing their starts during warm-up at the Hot 100's meet.

The weather gods turned it on for us as 72 swimmers from around the region were able to enjoy an afternoon of swimming in glorious sunshine at Hampden Street Pool on Saturday.

Nelson South had a team of 28 swimmers at the meet, and 21 of them recorded at least 1 pb during the day so overall it was a pretty good day at the pool for the Nelson South squad.  Emily Bryant had a fantastic afternoon in the water with 3 solid, good pb's from 3 swims and she looked strong in each race.  Lilly Hall recorded 2 pb's from 4 swims including knocking a handy 6.95 seconds from her 100m free time.  Sydney Aydon also swam 2 pb's from 4 swims and placed in the skins events to round out a good day in the pool.  The team welcomed Aidan Patchett to the ranks of competitive swimmers and he had a cracker of a day with the biggest pb of 25.74 seconds off his 100m back time along with 9.71 seconds off his 100m free time.

The event concluded with the exciting skins events.  Congratulations to all the winners:
