9 from 9 :-)
Nic Hall represented Nelson South at the South Island Country and Town meet held in Dunedin. Nic tells it in his own words and gives us the low down on a successful weekend!
The trip to South Island Country & Town 2017 began with Mum and Lilly dropping Dad and I to the airport at 6am Friday morning. What was supposed to be a 3 hour trip began with fog delays, an unexpected diversion to Auckland and an all round 12 hour journey to get to Dunedin! Dad was not happy and despite my best efforts he did not pick up on my subliminal messaging to buy me Dunkin Donuts!
As the swim meet was in Dunedin we were able to stay with Grandma and Grandad and it was nice that they could come and watch.
The Meet kicked off Saturday morning with the 200 Medley relay. Our regional teams did really well with 2 golds, a silver and a bronze. From there it was onto racing and it was a great day. I swam 9 races on Saturday and achieved 9 PB’s…….I was stoked!
Sunday, I swam 3 races and achieved another PB – 2 seconds off my 50 Breast! Dad was so happy as a reward afterwards we got to run up Baldwin Street #notatreat
Overall, the Meet was awesome! Spending time and getting to know other swimmers from our region was one of the best parts.
Nelson/Marlborough won the trophy for Top Region in the South Island - I was proud to be a part of this team and to represent Nelson South Swim Club.
