Camp Misery 2016
- 29 January 2016

The swimmers of Nelson South were once again put through their paces during the annual training camp – the now infamous Camp Misery!
47 swimmers took part in the week long camp. The swimmers were divided into 2 squads who swam 2 sessions each day, did gym sessions at either Results Gym or CrossFit and participated in a range of team building and fitness group activities. The camp was physically challenging and demanding and I imagine a certain amount of misery was felt by all! However, all kids completed the camp and can now proudly wear their Camp Misery 2016 singlets.
There are many people and businesses to thank for their help in making Camp Misery so successful - Results Gym, Franks Brothers CrossFit at City Fitness and Nige Burgess at BootCamp Nelson; Bayleys Real Estate, Amp Powerhouse and McDonalds for their help with the Amazing Race; Andrew Martin and Sean Trengrove for facilitating a group activity and the parents who helped supervise – Fiona Burns, Tanya Glenn, Sali Matthews, Steve Bryant, Hamish Baxter, Andrew Bates, Di Trengrove and Anna Loach; as well as all the parents who helped out with transport to and from CrossFit.
And finally, special thanks to our swim coaches, and to Paul Aydon and Dave and Danie Hall for all their help and support during the week.
