Meet Our Coach:
Glen Findlay
Originally from Greymouth, Findlay started swimming at AquaGym after moving to Christchurch aged 14.
The club had Olympic swimmer Brett Naylor as coach and a strong squad including another former Olympian Anna Simcic.
After he finished swimming competitively, Findlay became assistant coach to Naylor before eventually taking over as head coach. He was responsible for the development of of swim programs for over 400 swimmers between 1992 and 1998.
"I think initially it's about assessing where the swimmers are at technically, physiologically and mentally and getting to know everyone...the basics before we look at any sort of significant structural change. But we're making a lot of changes initially as we go through technique and the way we're training and how the squads work."
