Swimming Fees

Club Membership Fee

All squad swimmers must pay our annual Club membership fee.  The membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June.  Membership fees are due on joining the Club and on 1 July each year.  Squad training fees are charged separately and are paid to Glen Findlay, Hampden Swimming Institute.  Glen will contact you separately about squad fees.


In addition to the Club membership fee, swimmers need to pay an associated fee to Swimming New Zealand (SNZ) to register as either a club swimmer or a competitive swimmer*:

  • Club Swimmers can compete at inter-club meets, our Club champs and Club nights.  They cannot compete at regional or national meets. (Swimmers can upgrade to become a competitive swimmer at any time.)
  • Competitive Swimmers can compete at any swim meet including regional championships and SNZ national events.

*Swimmers in the Seahorses squad are not required to register as a club or competitive swimmer.

The SNZ registration fee is an annual fee covering the period 1 July to 30 June.  A portion of the SNZ fee contributes to our regional association, Swimming Nelson Marlborough (SNM).

Payment Of Fees

Payment of FeesBoth the Club membership fee and the SNZ registration fee are paid through the SNZ Fast Lane Portal.  On receipt of your completed membership form we will send you a link to the portal.

Family Discount: the NSSC Membership fee is reduced for the third and subsequent
children from the same family to $30.00 each.

How to join Nelson South Swimming Club...

Are you ready to join one of Nelson's top sporting teams?

At Nelson South Swimming Club not only will you get a top quality swim coaching program, but you’ll also get the chance to meet new people, travel and develop friendships for life!  Every swimmer's development is important to us.  

The Club’s swim program is run by our head coach, Glen Findlay through Hampden Swimming Institute.  For the summer season, training is based predominantly at Hampden Street School Pool. During winter, training is moved indoors to Riverside Pool with some sessions at Richmond Aquatic Centre.

If you're keen to join Nelson South Swimming Club:

  1. Assessment: Please get in touch with our head coach, Glen Findlay at ns.headcoach@gmail.com to book an appointment to have your swimmer assessed.
  2. Trial: Once assessed your swimmer will be told which squad is the best starting point.  Your swimmer might like to have a trial for a week to meet the other coaches and swimmers and make sure they’re happy.
  3. Join the Club: When your trial is over and your swimmer wants to keep swimming, you will need to join the Club.  Joining is easy – you just need to complete our online Membership Form.  Before you do, please read about our Membership Fees.
  4. Squad Training Fees: Glen will advise you of the squad training fees.  Squad training fees are paid direct to Glen and are separate to the annual Club membership fee.
