Glen as NZ Coach

Glen Findlay

Glen is a professional swim coach with over 27 years of full time coaching experience.  He started out as an Assistant Coach with Aqua Gym where he was responsible for the development of swim programs for over 400 swimmers between 1992 and 1998.  This role also included parent and staff education, as well as the coaching of National Age Group Squads (NAGs and DIV 2).

Glen went on to be Head Coach of Aqua Gym for 6 years where he managed 8 levels of competitive swimming programs, including planning for National and International swimming programs.  He also coached swimmers as major events such as Pan Pacific Games (1999, 2003), World Championships (1999, 2001) and the Olympic Games (2000, Helen Norfolk)

Between 2003 and 2013 he took on the role of Swim Coach at Christchurch City Council where he developed and coached holistic aquatic swimming programs, non-competitive programs as well as Surf, Triathlon, Masters and Para swimming programs.  

Glen and his family moved to Nelson in 2014 and after 3 years away from the pool deck, he has been working with the Nelson South swimmers.

Glen is the owner/operator of Hampden Street Swim School, of which includes Hampden Swim Institute the division of his business that concentrates on training the Nelson South Swim Club members.
